IT Help Desk Analyst
Stephen Joy works for one of New Zealand’s largest IT companies as an IT Help Desk Analyst – and he attributes his bright career prospects to the excellent training he received at Best Pacific Institute of Education.
Steve has done lots of things in his life, including taxi-driving, debt-collecting and building a computer. He knew a lot about various subjects, but not enough to be an expert in any.
However, since studying for a Certificate in Information Technology at BEST, Steve now helps people around the world solve their IT problems.
“I’d previously learned through trial and error. BEST reinforced and consolidated my IT knowledge - helped me put it into perspective and tidy it up,” he explains. Today, he can very quickly achieve the things that once took him hours.
With his new-found abilities, his days are spent assisting overseas users with complex technical issues, networks and software, and undertaking further study – this time for a Diploma in Network Engineering.
He says it was the knowledge and confidence gained at BEST that has made it all possible.
