As a Business Support Team Leader, Moe Alefaio is in the senior management team for a community service-provider.  She has not always had such a prestigious role and puts much of her career success down to studying at Best Pacific Institute of Education.

Before studying at BEST, she worked in a statistics office in Tuvalu.  Then, after moving to New Zealand, she was on a benefit before finding retail work. 

Her BEST study began in 1999 when she enrolled in the Certificate in Business Administration.  After passing, and while managing a full-time and part-time job and raising two children, Moe completed her National Diploma in Business – and her National Diploma in Computing.

“There were times when I could have slipped away,” she admits.  “But thanks to the support of my tutors, I didn’t.” 

Moe describes BEST’s tutors as ‘awesome, persuading and encouraging’, and is full of praise for the flexibility that BEST’s programmes offered in her busy life.

“Thank you, BEST,” she says, adding that, along with her work performance, her promotion to Team Leader was “based entirely on the achievements gained from studying at BEST.”
