Haereata Keepa was promoted to the role of a Contract Administrator at a national organisation, using her Best Pacific Institute of Education qualification to put her on track for a bright business career.

With a natural talent for administration, Haereata had studied computers and accounting at school, but her first real job was as a part-time waitress.  She didn’t find it a promising start to her working life.

So, at aged 17, she enrolled in the Certificate in Business Administration at BEST and began studying for a qualification she knew would help build a career with potential.

BEST’s flexible learning environment enabled her to fit studying around home commitments, which was important to her as a mother of a baby.  She says the BEST programme also gave her confidence and relevant, valuable skills for securing an administration job.

“I’d worked on computers and done accounting at school, but BEST got me back into it,” she says.

After passing her certificate, Haereata secured a junior role with a major national organisation and has subsequently been promoted to a Contract Administrator’s position.
