Success story

Victoria Schmidt graduated from BEST's Certificate in Screen and Performing Arts in 2003 and moved on to study  the Bachelor of Performing Arts with an Acting major at Unitec.  After completing her Bachelor, she was involved in several theatre plays including "The Running of the Bulls" directed by Iaheto Ah hi.

Due to the lack of Pacific Island inspired work in the industry she is currently writing and developing her own material.  "I feel that Pacific peoples have a lot more stories to tell..." and she is adamant that an influx of young pacific actors, dancers, singers and other performers will surface in the next few years in New Zealand.

"My advice for young people who are struggling with their studies today; find something that you enjoy doing, work hard at it, and don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done!"

Victoria's next role is to play a police officer on New Zealand's very own hit TV show Shortland Street.
